Craigslist

I discovered Craigslist when I first came to DC. David and I have sold several things on Craigslist and even utilized it while we were in other cities on vacation. What I've realized is, it works much better in larger cities with young professionals.

Today I posted several things and made my first sale and I did it all by myself. In the past David has normally posted the stuff, received the e-mails, corresponded with the people, and made the sale. This time it was all me. I even walked the person through step by step directions on how to arrive at my place. It was truly a feeling of accomplishment.

Arlington Cinema Drafthouse

Tonight we went to see Tropic Thunder at the Arlington Cinema Drafthouse with friends. For those of you not familiar with this theater, it looks like an old school theater complete with tables and a bar. It shows movies that have retired from the normal theaters ate reduced rates. It's pretty cool. You can eat dinner, drink, and watch a movie.

David was out in the lobby during the movie and ran into a man claiming to be Dakota Fanning's uncle. We was just talking and commented that he was going to see his niece Dakota Fanning in Charlotte's Web. I think he meant Secret Life of Bees. I guess we will never know if he was telling the truth, but I don't know why he would lie about this.

FREE CHIPOTLE BURRITO DAY

Today was an awesome day! I went to Chipotle twice and my food was free both times. My co-worker and I had discussed going to Chipotle earlier in the week. We both brought in foil and decided to dress and redeem our free burritos during lunch. I decided that I wanted to add "toppings" to my burrito for the dramatic effect. When I went to make my toppings, we recruited another girl to go with us. We were the "FREE Burritos". Our shenanigans created quite a stir around the office. When we returned from our excursion, yes they were others in the area who participated in the free burrito give-a-way, people did look at us curiously. Word quickly spread about the free burrito. Our foil was the foil that kept on giving today. It was spectacular. Nothing brings an office together like free food.

Here are pictures of my Halloween.

Cupcakes

Cupcake shops are the new trend. I'm thinking about opening up my own place, someday. Most of the places around here CakeLove , Georgetown Cupcake, and Hello Cupcake, specialize in frosting. I would specialize in decorating. Mainly themed cupcakes.

I'm making pumpkin cupcakes for our Halloween Party tomorrow.

Ads

I really meant to post last night, but with small group and creating ads for a team project at work, I didn't. I spent about 1 1/2 hours on two ads in photoshop. It was amazing how much I forgot in 9 months and how much I remembered. Here are a couple things I created.

Yoga

As mentioned in a previous post, David is using a workout program called P90X. He's been doing it for almost three weeks now. On Friday I joined him for his Yoga workout. I've done yoga a few times before but never for 1 1/2 hours. At first when we started I found it easy, but the longer we worked out, the harder it got and I thought my legs were going to snap. Many of the moves worked on balance. Some of the moves were similiar to cheerleading stances. If only I had known yoga back then, my cheerleading career would have skyrocketed. It's three days later and my legs are still sore. I think tomorrow's workout is yoga again. At least it should improve my flexibility.

HSM 3

Yes, I went and saw HSM3. My friend and I were probably the oldest ones there, other than the adults who were there with children. We thought about sitting with a family so it wouldn't be obvious that we were their by ourselves. It was cheesy, but fun. I love movie musicals. My favorite of the newer movie musicals would be Hairspray and Mama Mia. I truly love a good sing-a-long. I considered buying the soundtrack, then quickly came back to reality. If someone else had it, I could borrow it, but I could under no circumstances buy it.

Marley and Me

I just finished reading the book Marley and Me. If you haven't read it, the story is told by a dog owner who thinks his dog is the worst animal ever. I would agree that the dog seems like a pain in the butt, but I feel that all animals can be annoying at some point. My sister's dog Macy is sooo cute, but she was taking things out of my suitcase all weekend. First it was my socks then my underwear. Everyone thought it was funny except for me. She's still young, so I will cut her some slack, but she can be very hyper/annoying. However, she was nothing like the dog in the book. When I would mention to friends that I was reading Marley and Me, they would warn me not to read the last chapter. I knew then, that the dog died in the end, but I knew that animal stories have never made me cry. I didn't cry for Lassie or the dog in Where the Red Fern Grows. I will say the end was sad, and I almost teared up (I'm not a monster), but there weren't tears. I can't decide if I will see the movie in theaters this Christmas or wait till it's on DVD. Here's a picture of Macy when she was being good.

Voting

I picked up my absentee ballot application today and I found it at the metro station of all places. I realized I needed to change my address the day after the deadline. When I moved into our apartment 2 years ago I was registered to vote in a different county and I never thought to change my information. I was looking forward to taking my voting leave from work, but it seems that I will have to vote early as in this weekend. My vote matters this year.

At this time I know who I am voting for, but I don't know if either candidate is that strong. Whoever wins will have a difficult road ahead of them.

Camera Cord

I came home tonight with the intention of uploading my songs and pictures to the computer. The songs were no problem, the pictures on the other hand proved to be difficult. I can't find my camera cord! To be continued.....

ahh

Well, I can't say that I didn't try. I've only missed five days in a row so far. It's been a long and busy week. I did have an enjoyable time last night out with the girls. We visited a place called the SafeHaven. When we first we introduced to the place, the locals told us it was a old mob hangout turned restaurant. They told us it was down an alley through a warehouse and mentioned that we would need a password to get in. We were estactic to check it out. Once we got there, disappointment started to set in when a young boy told us all we needed to do was push a button and enter the staircase. Still thinking it would be fun we ventured in. They place reminded me of a spy restaurant. We were told the wait was 45 minutes. We decided to hangout out at the bar until our number was called. Thinking that since it was a Monday night, we would have a seat in no time. An hour later, we still didn't have a seat and decided to leave. The whole experience was a letdown. Several of us did get souvenir glasses to take home. The highlight of the night.

Once back at the hotel, we headed to the Miller Pub for another round. The rest of the team who decided not to join us were there, as were several of the attendees. We stayed for another hour before heading off to bed. Here are some pics from the night.

Milwaukee

I finally arrived in Milwaukee and to my surprise the city's downtown isn't so bad. The Hilton, where I'm staying, looks old on the outside yet it has been remolded and kept it's historic feel. Today wasn't as long as I expected it to be. We finished for the evening at 8:00 which was earlier than my midnight predictions. Maybe I will get more than 3 hours of sleep tonight!

I talked to my sister today and found out that her company is exhibting at the conference I am working at this week. It was weird. She was planning on meeting with clients this week north of Milwaukee and anticipated staying with me, but she might come up earlier to hang out because her team will be here. I still find it weird that we are attending the same event.

Aww...sleep beckons me. The morning will come soon.

Emergen-C

A few weeks ago when I was getting a cold, I tried drinking Emergen-c. I had friends who drink it to ward off colds, but I wasn't sold on the idea. However, I was willing to try anything to keep from getting sick. We bought the Tangerine flavored packets first. They weren't too bad, but I didn't like the aftertaste. I tried to have one pack a day, in order to get my daily+ Vitamin C. When we went to Target last night I found Emergen-C in Pink Lemonade. I love anything Pink Lemonade so I was willing to give this a try. I actually like the taste. I prefer the to add the packets to 16 oz. of water instead of the recommended 8 oz. It dilutes the packets more. David think it tastes like pop rocks. If you haven't tried it yet, you should.

Work out

My hubby has enrolled in a new workout program called PX360. You work a different muscle group everyday for an hour. He started with the chest and back tonight and I joined him for the abs section. It was so hard. We only worked on abs for 15 minutes, but I was worn out after the first five. I plan on joining him for the abs section 3 times a week, but I don't know if I will last for the other groups. The other part of the workout I'm looking forward too is the yoga section. For awhile now, I've wanted to get involved in yoga, but I never stick with a yoga dvd. We'll see how long I can keep up with this program. Running never looked so good.

New Desk

About a month ago, we purchased a new desktop computer. Our old had a tendency to freeze and the monitor didn't always work, therefor we decided it was time for a new one. With the new computer and monitor, we needed to purchase a new desk. Our old, was really a coffee table, but it worked as our desk for the past three years. One of the reasons why we needed a new desk was because the monitor we purchased is 24 in(We could turn it in to a TV monitor in the future) and needed to be elevated.

We went to IKEA with the intent on buying a new desk several weeks ago. We found one we liked and actually agreed on it. But, we were worried that it wouldn't fit in our car. We went out to measure our car and sure enough it wasn't big enough. For most cars this wouldn't have been a problem, but since we have a Hybrid it wouldn't fit. For those of you who aren't familiar with hybrids, the electric battery is located in the trunk and prevents the seats from folding down. Anyway, we were disappointed. However, about two weeks ago we decided to rent an SUV and drive down to purchase our desk. Here are some pictures of our old desk, our new desk, and some of our new organizational things for the desk.

Infinite Playlist

Tonight I saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I really enjoyed it. Michael Cera is hilarious and Kat Dennings is cute. I hope to see her again.

While waiting in line for the movie, we saw protesters out sided the theater. I wasn't aware of any movies that would be protested. We surveyed the movies listed and still couldn't figure out which one they were protesting. Finally David went outside and found out what the fuss was about, or at least what movie was under scrutiny. It was Blindness. I had never heard of this movie, but I will definitely be looking it up to see its premise.

Second Try At Blogging

Since today is October first, I decided to give blogging everyday during the month another try. My earlier attempt in February didn't go so well, but I'm willing to try again.

Nothing exciting to report. I'm packing for Boston. I'm traveling there to exhibit at a conference this weekend. I'm pretty excited! I just hope it doesn't rain.

I can't wait to eat Clam Chowder at the Union Oyster House and watch Mizzou beat Nebraska. Go Tigers!

Dinner

My sweet hubby became sick over the past weekend and has graciously given me his cold. However, I wanted to do something special for him since he ran errands with me all weekend. I have a recipe for Chili's Tortilla Soup that I had wanted to make for sometime, so I decided to make it. It was delicious! Here's a picture.

Weird things in DC

This week, while walking around the streets of DC on my lunch break, I noticed a man doing push ups on the corner. I've never seen a fully clothed man working out on the streets in the middle of a busy day; especially when no one is forcing him to. On my way back to the office I saw the same man on the opposite corner doing crunches. It was odd.

Several months ago I was walking to the Metro from work. I noticed what I thought was a man wearing a pink tutu. I had to do a double take and really look at this person. I noticed that not only was this a man wearing a tutu but also a leotard. I'm not judging this person, but it was strange. Had it been closer to Halloween maybe I would have understood his "costume", but it was the middle of the summer.

DC certainly has its share of characters.

Giving Table

One of the things I loved about our apartment was the simple end table located in the lobby of each floor near the elevators. At first glance this may seem like any other table used for decoration, however this table was a place for neighbors to share things with others. I have received many gifts from this table and supplied many gifts for others. Neighbors would place their new or gentle used items on the table for others to take, that was until someone placed a sign on the table prohibiting this.
However, after a few weeks, the giving table was back. Here are a few things I recently picked up - a candle centerpiece and a organizer thing.

I Love the Olympics

The Summer Olympics are my favorite Olympics. I love watching women's gymnastics and swimming. The US athletes were phenomenal especially in these two events. I have DVRed the Olympics every night. Props to Michael Phelps for his outstanding performances and kudos to his teammates for helping him make history. This picture is available to you compliments of a friend's page.
Since he is coming back to the East Coast after the Olympics, I may just take a road trip up to Baltimore! I know he mentioned taking in a Raven's game.

My other favorite athlete of the games is Nastia Liukin. She has been fabulous! I know everyone expected Shawn Johnson to win, but I really wanted Nastia to win the gold. This is most likely her first/last Olympics. She's really cute too. I am so proud of the US gymnasts. They still have a chance to win more medals. Before the individual competition last week, I gave a speech at our Toastmasters meeting. I spoke on the history of gymnastics, the US Olympic team history and the apparatuses themselves. It was a very energetic speech. I even began and ended with saluting everyone. I know, sometimes I'm over the top. Here's another great picture from the gymnastics events.

The only thing I have been disappointed in at this years Olympics is the US's track and field performance. We still have a week to pick things up.

Herve Dress

A few weeks ago, my friend introduced me to the "Bandage" dress. It's a popular style from the 80's, unbeknownst to me. At first I wasn't sure about the style. That was until I tried on the most expensive piece of clothing I've ever touched. It was a $1000 Herve dress similar to the one seen here on Blake Lively. No matter how tight the dress was, the fit was fantastic.

Here is a similar dress for much less at BCBG or this one at Bebe.

Another One Bites the Dust

This isn't the best title for my blog today, but it rings true. I found out this evening that David's grandfather passed away. He was 89. All of my living grandparents (all on David's side) he was my favorite. He was really cute and very friendly. I'm so glad we were able to see my a few weeks ago during our visit home. He even bought me Coke, it was diet though, for my visit to this house. It was so sweet. I will miss him.

To warm my heart tonight, I am watching ABC Family.

Pay It Forward

Last week at church our pastor asked everyone to take a dollar from the offering plate. He spoke about how everyone has the opportunity to do something great with as little as $1. He and his wife donated the $1 bills to inspire the church body to think about how far $1 can go. I have to admit, it was very intimidating. I felt a huge weight of responsibility as I took my $1. All throughout the morning I thought about how I could make my $1 go as far as I could. Several things ran through my mind, matching the $1, so I would have $2, pooling the money with our class so we would have a bigger pot to use, or pooling the money and matching the pot. I still wasn't sure where the money would go or how we could use it, but I'e been thinking about it all week.

Several people made suggestions today in our class and we are voting on the choices next week. One idea was to buy water and hand out on the National Mall with a note about where the water came from. The idea was that the Pay it Forward idea would continue. Another idea was buying supplies for a missionary family or use it to help send kids to camp. I really like the water idea, but I don't think it has the majority vote. David and I will be back home when the money will most likely be spent. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Vote for POPCYCLE

As some of you may know by now, my sister submitted a Business Plan to the city of Chicago and was selected as a top 10 finalist in the City Treasurer's 2008 Chicago Business Plan competition. What I am asking you to do is vote for my sister's idea. To vote click on the link below and vote for my sisters idea - POPCYCLE. She plans to open a maternity resale shop that not only sells gentle used clothes and toys, but also serves as a support group for new moms. These votes could help her win the popularity contest, but do not count in her actual scoring.

You can learn all about the competition, her competitors, AND you can VOTE for her plan (POPCYCLE). http://chicagocitytreasurer.com/news20080617.shtml

Please cast your vote for your favorite business plan (POPCYCLE) to businessplans@cityofchicago.org with a subject of "Small Business Plan- POPCYCLE". If you vote more than once you vote will be not be counted.

Thanks for your support!

Summer Movies

Each summer I look forward to the big summer blockbusters to entertain me during the dry TV season. This year I haven't been interested in many of the movies that have been released. So far this summer I've only seen You Don't Mess With the Zohan. I enjoyed the movie, but it wasn't something I want to add to my collection. However I am looking foward to Mama Mia!
and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Sequel. .
I really hope they don't disappoint.

Work Woes

Work for me this week has been very stressful. Based on various factors things have not gone well. Take today for example, I was running around trying to manage five different things without the help of anyone. The end of the day comes and I'm still not finished with my project. What frustrates me most is that everyone around me, knew how much stress I was under and no one offered to help me. Everyone just walked by me and wished me luck as they left at 5 o'clock. I didn't expect people to help, but I wish someone would have offered. It makes me wonder if there's any good people left in the world.

Sappy Romance Novels

Recently I've been reading some old school Nicholas Sparks books. My interest was peaked when I saw a movie trailer for Nights in Rodanthe coming out later this fall. I remembered the book was sitting on my shelf unopened. After I finished the other book I was reading I jumped into this one. It was a quick pool side read that I finished in one afternoon. Since it was such an easy read, I broke the spine on another NS book, the Rescue. I really enjoyed this one because it's about a boy who has learning disabilities. I've recently been thinking about how I can help out with people who have these disabilities. Now I'm on my third NS book, Message in a Bottle. I know, these books have been out for years and I've actually had them for years, but I've never read them. I find that I either love his books or hate them. I loved the Notebook, the Wedding, a Walk to Remember. But I didn't care too much for True Believer and the sequel At first sight. I leave you with a clip from my favorite scene from the Notebook.

Farmer Gets A Wife

As I was finishing my run tonight, the new CW show Farmer Gets A Wife came on the tv. I have seen previews for this show and definitely had no intention of watching it. However, I caught a glimpse of the license plate on the guys truck and it was a Missouri plate. This peaked my interest in the show. When I returned to my apartment, I checked out the show to see where it's taking place. Oddly enough, the guy is from West Alton which is about 20 minutes from where I grew up. Crazy!! Anyway I don't think I'll continue watching the show. No one from these reality shows stay together.

End of the road

Well, my attempt at blogging every day was average. I didn't accomplish my goal, but I sure did try. It's made me want to start blogging again, but on actual topics. I've already decided that next month, I will try and read the Bible every day. I read so much anyway that this shouldn't be a problem. It just needs to be a priority, blogging wasn't. If I am successful next month, I'm hoping that it will become a habit, instead of a month long challenge.

I've already meet one of my goals for the year which was to learn a new skill - Photoshop. The other classes I'm taking this year are Dreamweaver, which I'm already proficient in, but I have to take for work, a writing workshop, and I'll be a chapter member of the Toastmasters International. No, they don't make toasters, it's more of a public speaking/professional development group. I'm so excited!!

Boleyn Girl

This weekend the must see movie of the year, for me, comes out. The Other Boleyn Girl. I love Natalie Portman too. I'm not so much a fan of Scarlett Johanssen, but I'll have to take the bad with the good. Because I've been reading more historical fiction lately, it's definitely peaked my interest in learning more about history, english history is. I'll starting reading the sequel to the Boleyn Girl this weekend. I think it's about Anne's daughter.

Movies

I've seen a lot of movies recently. Ones I would recommend are Vantage Point and Kingdom. Ones I wouldn't suggest are the Brave One, Fools Gold, and Rendition. I hear Michael Clayton was good, but I feel asleep during it. Movie I'm most looking forward too is the Other Boleyn Girl.

On to the Oscars. I haven't decided yet if I will watch the Oscars, even if there isn't any new TV on. This was perfect timing.
My vote for Best Picture is Juno, even though they are the underdogs. My next choice is Atonement, even though I don't like Keira Knightly. I don't have favorites for the other categories.

Snow, Snow

So it's supposed to snow and ice tonight. How many times have I heard that this winter? I know most of the country has been hit pretty hard this winter by snow storms, and we unfortunately haven't. Part of me wants to finally have a winter storm tomorrow, but I'm also ready for spring and I'm done with the cold weather.

Do the winter blues have you down?

Recognition

Lately I've been getting a lot of recognition at work. A few weeks ago I was asked to sit on a panel at an Executive Conference, this week I received the "Heisman" award for submitting articles to our intranet, and I was asked to help lead a Learning Center course. It's been a great honor, but I have to wondering if it comes at a price. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the limelight, but I also know it can end as soon as it begins.

One thing I have learned in my short stint as a top performer is that you have to make chances for yourself. If you don't seize opportunities no matter how big or small, you'll regret it later. Don't have regrets or missed opportunities. Seize the day!

I don't want to work

Why can't I have tomorrow off? It's a holiday isn't it? President's Day is just as important as the other holidays. We should all be off when the government is off.

Confusion

Why has it been a struggle for me to post everyday? Even if there isn't anything for me to write, and I can always come up with something. As much as I would like to blame it on time and recent travel I can't when. When I was running last month I traveled and entertained company while running. The lack of commitment comes from my insecurity in my writing skills. I always second guess myself when it comes to writing. I hate reading aloud things I've written. I can write fact driven pieces, but when it comes to creating writing, I struggle. I am looking into taking a course to improve my abilities.

On a side note, I'm entertaining taking classes for a graphic design certificate. I've learned so much from my photoshop class and I just can't get enough.

Shipping Companys

I know how excited I was when I first heard that I could send sometihng overnight and it was guaranteed to be there the next day. Those days are over. I can't stand FedEx. They lost my package again. It never fails that the packages don't arrive on time for this winter meeting. Maybe I should quit using Fedex or quit shipping to this meeting.

Truth

Have you seen the new tv show Moment of Truth? I watched it for the first time this week, and cringed for the people who were on it. They ask some very personal questions. I know that I wouldn't put myself or my friends and family through that. I asked myself what would motivate someone to expose themselves on national television like that. My only answer was for fame and fortune. We see it all the time with celebrities and lets face it, they are just like us. We all have the desire to be known. It goes to show what people will do when they're in the limelight. I think it's sad, but it's a reality that will will do almost anything for fame and fortune.

Speaking of how fame and fortune can ruin lives just look at Britney Spears. I really feel sorry for the girl. No one is able to get through her. She is literary throwing her life away. She had everything going for her, and her world has crumpled around her. I'm not sure she'll make it through this next year. Her potential just wasted.

It makes me grateful that I'm not it that position, even though I sometimes wish I was.

Airports

It's no surprise why so many people are sick after traveling. I spent a few hours in the airport today contemplating this very subject. What sparked my first concern was the bathroom. I went in to do my business and on the toliet there was the automatic seat liners. I don't like these things. To some they may seem like a good idea, but what's really happening when the liner rotates? Is it disposed of, recycled, or reused? I would much rather have the option to either use a liner or not. At least I know where it came from. My other concerns ar those seemingly nice pillows and blankets lying around the plane. I'm usually a sucker for these, as I use flights to catch up on sleep. However, the last time I flew people were coughing and wiping their hands all over these things. In my mind I knew these things happened, however it didn't bother me until I found multiple strands of hair, not my own, on said pillow or blanket. It definitely makes you think twice about using them on your next flight. Luckily for me I bought a neck pillow and blanket to use on my upcoming travels. I'm a sucker for a two for one deal. Another suggesting for surving airports, taking airborne before your flight.

Chicago

It's good to be back in Chi-town! The pizza's great, the dog is great, and my sister's gifts are great. The weather hasn't bothered me at all. I'm still nervous about the panel tomorrow. I know it's no big deal, but I still want to make a good impression. It's nice working for a company that will fly me to another city for a one hour presentation. Sometimes I love my job. One thing is for sure I do love this city.

the winter blahs!

it's 70 degrees here and I have the winter blahs. I know, who could be sad when it's that warm in February? I think the stresses of every day living have gotten me down. However, I was asked to sit on a panel at a company meeting this Friday. I go from warm and sunny to cold and snowy. Yep, I'm flying to Chicago and I get to see my sister. That's 3 times in 6 weeks. I think that's more than I used to see her when I lived in STL. Yes I know it will be awhile before my next visit so I am treasuring every chance I get.

I've already messed up!

Well here it is day five and I have already blown it. I can't believe that I wasn't able to keep my commitment to blogging. Sunday I was out watching the Superbowl and didn't get home until late. I completely forgot about blogging, but I will not let that dampen my spirits.

An old friend e-mailed me out of the blue today. Sometimes I'm not sure how to respond to those e-mails. However, I was pleasant and congratulated her on her recent pregnancy while updating her on my life. She was my best friend in high school, then something happened when we went away to college and things were never the same. I heard rumors about our falling out, but I never confronted her to see if they were true. Maybe if I had we would still be close friends today. I thought about apologizing for whatever I did to contribute to the downfall of our relationship, if she e-mails me back. I'm not sure it's worth it. I know it won't change anything, but I need closer. I know it's been like 7 years, but I still need it.

What would you do?

2007 Goals

For the past few years I have tried to read 52 books in a year. Sometimes it was easier than others. This year I decided to take a break from this goal. I am still going to read, but I want to enjoy and remember the books I read. Here are some of my favorites from 2007.

Little Women
Nineteen Minutes
Saving Fish From Drowning
Vanishing Acts
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Water for Elephants
The Glass Castle

My other goal was to run 500 miles. I never imagined how challenging this would be. I started recording the number of miles I was running back in January. I had planned to run a ten mile race in April and wanted to see how much training I needed to accomplish this. Once I had completed this race I moved on to a marathon. This was something I decided to do mid year with my sister. This wasn't something I had planned on doing, but since I turned 26 last year I thought it was the perfect time to achieve it. Even with training for a marathon, I only briefly surpassed my goal of 500 miles, and it wasn't until September or October that I reached my mark. I ended the year running 687 miles. This year I decided to run a couple smaller races. I have already signed up for my first half marathon in St. Louis.

February's Challenge

Today marks my second month long challenge of the year. For my "new year's resolutions" I decided to challenge myself to do something new every day for an entire month. Blogging is my second challenge. Seeing as I haven't blogged in almost 3 months, I felt this was something I should try.

You may be thinking what did you complete in January.? After reading an article on Streak Runners I decided to run every day for the duration of January. Streak Runners run at least one mile per day outside. They don't use treadmills or ellipticals. Some of the elite runners have been in the club for 15-30 years. To read the article in its entirety click here. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=streakrun My challenge consisted of running at least a mile every day, but I could use the elliptical and the treadmill. Most days I was able to run at least three, however there were a few times I only ran the required one mile. I faced two challenges this month: having company in over the weekend and visiting my family back in Missouri. On both occasions I stuck to my plan and ran. However while I was at home, the temperature dropped below 10 degrees every morning I ran. It was less than enjoyable.

What did you decide to change this year?? I'm still looking for suggestions on what I can do each month. If you have a recommendation for me let me know.
