FREE CHIPOTLE BURRITO DAY

Today was an awesome day! I went to Chipotle twice and my food was free both times. My co-worker and I had discussed going to Chipotle earlier in the week. We both brought in foil and decided to dress and redeem our free burritos during lunch. I decided that I wanted to add "toppings" to my burrito for the dramatic effect. When I went to make my toppings, we recruited another girl to go with us. We were the "FREE Burritos". Our shenanigans created quite a stir around the office. When we returned from our excursion, yes they were others in the area who participated in the free burrito give-a-way, people did look at us curiously. Word quickly spread about the free burrito. Our foil was the foil that kept on giving today. It was spectacular. Nothing brings an office together like free food.

Here are pictures of my Halloween.

Cupcakes

Cupcake shops are the new trend. I'm thinking about opening up my own place, someday. Most of the places around here CakeLove , Georgetown Cupcake, and Hello Cupcake, specialize in frosting. I would specialize in decorating. Mainly themed cupcakes.

I'm making pumpkin cupcakes for our Halloween Party tomorrow.

Ads

I really meant to post last night, but with small group and creating ads for a team project at work, I didn't. I spent about 1 1/2 hours on two ads in photoshop. It was amazing how much I forgot in 9 months and how much I remembered. Here are a couple things I created.

Yoga

As mentioned in a previous post, David is using a workout program called P90X. He's been doing it for almost three weeks now. On Friday I joined him for his Yoga workout. I've done yoga a few times before but never for 1 1/2 hours. At first when we started I found it easy, but the longer we worked out, the harder it got and I thought my legs were going to snap. Many of the moves worked on balance. Some of the moves were similiar to cheerleading stances. If only I had known yoga back then, my cheerleading career would have skyrocketed. It's three days later and my legs are still sore. I think tomorrow's workout is yoga again. At least it should improve my flexibility.

HSM 3

Yes, I went and saw HSM3. My friend and I were probably the oldest ones there, other than the adults who were there with children. We thought about sitting with a family so it wouldn't be obvious that we were their by ourselves. It was cheesy, but fun. I love movie musicals. My favorite of the newer movie musicals would be Hairspray and Mama Mia. I truly love a good sing-a-long. I considered buying the soundtrack, then quickly came back to reality. If someone else had it, I could borrow it, but I could under no circumstances buy it.

Marley and Me

I just finished reading the book Marley and Me. If you haven't read it, the story is told by a dog owner who thinks his dog is the worst animal ever. I would agree that the dog seems like a pain in the butt, but I feel that all animals can be annoying at some point. My sister's dog Macy is sooo cute, but she was taking things out of my suitcase all weekend. First it was my socks then my underwear. Everyone thought it was funny except for me. She's still young, so I will cut her some slack, but she can be very hyper/annoying. However, she was nothing like the dog in the book. When I would mention to friends that I was reading Marley and Me, they would warn me not to read the last chapter. I knew then, that the dog died in the end, but I knew that animal stories have never made me cry. I didn't cry for Lassie or the dog in Where the Red Fern Grows. I will say the end was sad, and I almost teared up (I'm not a monster), but there weren't tears. I can't decide if I will see the movie in theaters this Christmas or wait till it's on DVD. Here's a picture of Macy when she was being good.

Voting

I picked up my absentee ballot application today and I found it at the metro station of all places. I realized I needed to change my address the day after the deadline. When I moved into our apartment 2 years ago I was registered to vote in a different county and I never thought to change my information. I was looking forward to taking my voting leave from work, but it seems that I will have to vote early as in this weekend. My vote matters this year.

At this time I know who I am voting for, but I don't know if either candidate is that strong. Whoever wins will have a difficult road ahead of them.

Camera Cord

I came home tonight with the intention of uploading my songs and pictures to the computer. The songs were no problem, the pictures on the other hand proved to be difficult. I can't find my camera cord! To be continued.....

ahh

Well, I can't say that I didn't try. I've only missed five days in a row so far. It's been a long and busy week. I did have an enjoyable time last night out with the girls. We visited a place called the SafeHaven. When we first we introduced to the place, the locals told us it was a old mob hangout turned restaurant. They told us it was down an alley through a warehouse and mentioned that we would need a password to get in. We were estactic to check it out. Once we got there, disappointment started to set in when a young boy told us all we needed to do was push a button and enter the staircase. Still thinking it would be fun we ventured in. They place reminded me of a spy restaurant. We were told the wait was 45 minutes. We decided to hangout out at the bar until our number was called. Thinking that since it was a Monday night, we would have a seat in no time. An hour later, we still didn't have a seat and decided to leave. The whole experience was a letdown. Several of us did get souvenir glasses to take home. The highlight of the night.

Once back at the hotel, we headed to the Miller Pub for another round. The rest of the team who decided not to join us were there, as were several of the attendees. We stayed for another hour before heading off to bed. Here are some pics from the night.

Milwaukee

I finally arrived in Milwaukee and to my surprise the city's downtown isn't so bad. The Hilton, where I'm staying, looks old on the outside yet it has been remolded and kept it's historic feel. Today wasn't as long as I expected it to be. We finished for the evening at 8:00 which was earlier than my midnight predictions. Maybe I will get more than 3 hours of sleep tonight!

I talked to my sister today and found out that her company is exhibting at the conference I am working at this week. It was weird. She was planning on meeting with clients this week north of Milwaukee and anticipated staying with me, but she might come up earlier to hang out because her team will be here. I still find it weird that we are attending the same event.

Aww...sleep beckons me. The morning will come soon.

Emergen-C

A few weeks ago when I was getting a cold, I tried drinking Emergen-c. I had friends who drink it to ward off colds, but I wasn't sold on the idea. However, I was willing to try anything to keep from getting sick. We bought the Tangerine flavored packets first. They weren't too bad, but I didn't like the aftertaste. I tried to have one pack a day, in order to get my daily+ Vitamin C. When we went to Target last night I found Emergen-C in Pink Lemonade. I love anything Pink Lemonade so I was willing to give this a try. I actually like the taste. I prefer the to add the packets to 16 oz. of water instead of the recommended 8 oz. It dilutes the packets more. David think it tastes like pop rocks. If you haven't tried it yet, you should.

Work out

My hubby has enrolled in a new workout program called PX360. You work a different muscle group everyday for an hour. He started with the chest and back tonight and I joined him for the abs section. It was so hard. We only worked on abs for 15 minutes, but I was worn out after the first five. I plan on joining him for the abs section 3 times a week, but I don't know if I will last for the other groups. The other part of the workout I'm looking forward too is the yoga section. For awhile now, I've wanted to get involved in yoga, but I never stick with a yoga dvd. We'll see how long I can keep up with this program. Running never looked so good.

New Desk

About a month ago, we purchased a new desktop computer. Our old had a tendency to freeze and the monitor didn't always work, therefor we decided it was time for a new one. With the new computer and monitor, we needed to purchase a new desk. Our old, was really a coffee table, but it worked as our desk for the past three years. One of the reasons why we needed a new desk was because the monitor we purchased is 24 in(We could turn it in to a TV monitor in the future) and needed to be elevated.

We went to IKEA with the intent on buying a new desk several weeks ago. We found one we liked and actually agreed on it. But, we were worried that it wouldn't fit in our car. We went out to measure our car and sure enough it wasn't big enough. For most cars this wouldn't have been a problem, but since we have a Hybrid it wouldn't fit. For those of you who aren't familiar with hybrids, the electric battery is located in the trunk and prevents the seats from folding down. Anyway, we were disappointed. However, about two weeks ago we decided to rent an SUV and drive down to purchase our desk. Here are some pictures of our old desk, our new desk, and some of our new organizational things for the desk.

Infinite Playlist

Tonight I saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I really enjoyed it. Michael Cera is hilarious and Kat Dennings is cute. I hope to see her again.

While waiting in line for the movie, we saw protesters out sided the theater. I wasn't aware of any movies that would be protested. We surveyed the movies listed and still couldn't figure out which one they were protesting. Finally David went outside and found out what the fuss was about, or at least what movie was under scrutiny. It was Blindness. I had never heard of this movie, but I will definitely be looking it up to see its premise.

Second Try At Blogging

Since today is October first, I decided to give blogging everyday during the month another try. My earlier attempt in February didn't go so well, but I'm willing to try again.

Nothing exciting to report. I'm packing for Boston. I'm traveling there to exhibit at a conference this weekend. I'm pretty excited! I just hope it doesn't rain.

I can't wait to eat Clam Chowder at the Union Oyster House and watch Mizzou beat Nebraska. Go Tigers!
