Memorial Day

This past weekend, our family is traveled to San Francisco to celebrate the marriage of our dear friends.   We went back and forth on whether we would drive or fly to the wedding and in the end decided to drive. Are we crazy, yes! C had done so well on our drive out to CA last October that we thought a 7 1/2 hour drive would be a piece of cake. Not.the.case. She didn't do terrible, but it wasn't easy.

On the way up we stopped by my favorite fast food place, Qdoba. YUM! After arriving several hours past bedtime, we settled in to the house. We spent the next few days prepping for the wedding, hanging out and catching up with old friends. Here are a few pics from our trip.

Blowing bubbles.

Hanging out with the best looking groomsmen.

Me and my girl before she spit up and missed the ceremony.

The Mariachi band.

The happy couple - Michael Westo and Fiona Glenanne.

One of my favorites.

On Monday we packed up the car and headed out to the beach. C loves the sand. I'm hoping she loves the water as much.

She finally tried the sand. Looks better that it tastes.

First time in the water.

We had so much fun hanging out with Daddy for several days! And I want to thank all the service men and women for their service to our country, especially my dad!

Pinterest Thursday

I've been working on several different projects lately and wanted to share the results of my most recent Pinterest DIY. For months now, I've been scouring BBB, the Container Store, Etsy and IKEA for something to display my bracelets on. The acrylic ones found in some trendy shops are my favorite, but aren't sold to the public to my knowledge. After seeing a pin on Pinterest for a ribbon holder I knew the idea would work for bracelets. Off to Home Depot we went for the supplies. A couple months and a few coats of paint later and here is the finished project. To see the original pin with instructions on creating your own holder click here. This project was extremely easy and fairly inexpensive. I can't believe it took me as long as it did to get started on it.

And because I couldn't resist, here is my baby I mean 9 month old wearing pig tails. What??? They didn't last long as her hair is thin fine, but it was so cute while I snapped these pictures.

Happy Mother's Day

Today was my first official Mother's Day and it could not have been better.

David was away on a boy's weekend but came back just in time for dinner. I spent the entire weekend celebrating with Charlotte. We started the day out cuddling, did some FaceTime, went to the beach and ended the night with Sushi and gelato. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Happy Mother's Day to all.

Pinterest Thursday

I haven't posted a review of my DIY Pinterest posts in awhile, but I have been working on several projects. When I found out I was having a baby a year and a half ago, I became baby obsessed like most expectant moms. I found so many cute onesie ideas that I was determined I could recreate.

Original Pins - 1, 2, 3

I also found the cutest Little Man bowtie onesie here

What have you DIYed lately from Pinterest?

Whatever Wednesday

Yes, I'm late again on posting, but this time I have an excuse. I've lost my card reader. I've been tearing my house upside down, not really, to find it. So my iPhone photos will have to do. My new favorite color combo as of the last few weeks it emerald/navy and coral/orange. Here are a few of the outfits I created. I also dressed my baby in matching color hues a few times.

This blazer and top have definitely been staples in my closet for the past couple of years.

This was an easy outfit for the Zoo.

Running Errands.

This might be my favorite outfit of the bunch. The emerald is to vibrant.

My workout clothes even got in on the trend.

What else is going on? Well, I joined Poshmark. Aren't familiar with the Poshmark app, it's the Craigslist for specifically clothes. I joined to sell two dresses, that I haven't received any feedback on them, but it doesn't cost anything to list, which I like. If anyone has any tips for getting more traffic to your closet  I would love to hear it. I've tried Craigslist, but received 0 traction and was excited to hear about this app. We'll see how it works out.

Whatever Wednesday

First off, I can't believe its May already. Seriously where did April go? I look back at my calendar and I see things on the schedule, but .......

Last week I shared several outfits from my color combo challenge. This week's color combo is Yellow and Gray. Yellow and gray has always been a favorite of mine. I was able to re-wear several items that haven't been worn in awhile, mainly because I was pregnant this time last year. I love the sandals in several pictures below. I bought them while pregnant and I couldn't fit my feet into them, but after the swelling subsided they fit like a glove.

I'm loving this necklace below, but it's SOLD OUT.

Again, my picture taking needs some help. I'm actually a good photographer, but haven't mastered the selfie.

My next random topic - FELT. Yes, you read that right felt. I have seen sooo many posts on Pinterest of people using felt for projects that I decided I wanted to work with it more. Little did I know, felt comes in different weights and materials. The felt found at craft stores is not what should be used in felting projects. I tried it, became discouraged and swore off felt forever. That is until I found the beauty below and decided I would give felt another try. Quality felt does work for bows! What projects would you use felt for?

May Pin-spired

It's May so that mean another edition of the Pin-spired challenge. I'm linking up with Shay over at Mix & Match Mama. I've mentioned this before but if you haven't checked out her blog, GO.THERE.NOW. or after you finish reading this post. And if you need another reason to read her blog, she is the big sister of Sean Lowe. Yes, you read that right, the most recent Bachelor is her brother.

In addition to the Pin-spired challenge I decided to use color combos from my Pinterest boards and create looks for one week. To see the other looks I created click here and here.

Now onto the good stuff.

Outfit #1 - Coral and Green

I love this color combo. To see more outfits using these colors click here.

Outfit #2 - Green and Yellow

As I was looking for inspiration outfits I noticed that I had several outfits pinned from J's Everyday Fashion blog, so I started following her. I am loving these yellow shorts I found on sale at J-Crew. They are more versatile than I first thought.

Outfit #3 - NEON

So this outfit wasn't a stretch for me to replicate, but after resisting the NEON colors for a couple months, I'm loving them now. The jean jacket helps to balance the bright color.

Outfit #4 - More bold Yellow and statement jewelry.

I actually have the J-Crew necklace in the first photo from several seasons ago and I didn't think to pair it with this outfit. I do love bright yellow right now and when I wear the outfit again, I will pair it with my leopard scarf. To see more yellow inspired outfits, click here

Outfit #5 Navy/Coral

This is another one of my favorite recent color combos. In addition to the outfit inspiration on the left, I was also inspired by my daughter's outfit. We probably match more often than not.
