Maternity/Family Photos

I love taking photos and having my photo taken. It' so much fun being behind the camera and capturing beautiful moments as well as being in front of the camera and having someone else direct you.

We had the privilege of having Sarah Peterson, one of my friends from MOPS, take our photos last weekend. The weather finally cooled off and we enjoyed an evening with nature.

Here are a few of my favorites from our session.  I love these, but I'm also trying to save some for our Christmas card. Don't let the little one fool you either, she was hard to photograph and would rather play in the dirt and with sticks than sit still.

Thank you again Sarah for the beautiful photos!

Pumpkin Patch

Today several families from our church traveled to the nearby Pumpkin Patch. As expected it was HOT! It felt much warmer than what my weather app said it was.

Charlotte had a great time throwing hay, jumping on the hay barrels and rolling, yes rolling over the pumpkins. We of course had to dress up for some pictures, but she was to busy to look at the camera for most of them.

On the way home we stopped by one of our local shopping centers for trick or treating. I'll be honest - momma was craving some candy.

We finished off the day with a much needed bath, watching the MU Tigers pull out a win and hopefully securing a 3-1 Royals WS lead.

What we've been up to lately

We have been very busy late, hosting a few family and friends, gearing up for the holidays and preparing for baby Greer.

At the end of September our college friends Nathan and Ashley made the journey out to SD to visit us and another family for a few days. They left their two oldest at home, not alone but with the grandparents, and brought 5 month Baby Abby with them. C loved Baby Abby and still asks when she can see her.

Their flight was delayed due to a random shooter entering the airport. Since they were on East Coast time they were exhausted, but were up bright and early and ready to see SD. David was able to take off work and we headed downtown for donuts in the morning. I'm craving one of those donuts right now.

After donuts we set out for the zoo to meet our other friends. Nathan and Ashley actual introduced us to the Brumbacks when they moved here a year ago. We were set up on a "blind date" with them and the rest is history. Everyone sampled the donuts and then it was time to check out the animals. The zoo covers a large area and we saw at least half of it before calling it a day. We headed home to relax for a few minutes before joining the Brumbacks for dinner.

The next day we headed to the beach to explore the sand and surf. We hadn't been to this particular beach since the spring and I was amazed at how much sand had been washed on shore between visits.   By the end of the day we were all pretty exhausted.

On Sunday we hired a babysitter and the adults headed out - the boys took in a baseball game and the girls went shopping. Afterwards we headed to Coronado to take in the views, then we made a pitstop at Extraordinary Desserts. Yum!!

A few days after the Lortons headed back to Florida, grandpa came to visit. We enjoyed hanging out with him and managed to squeeze in watching the Tigers win over South Carolina and visiting Mount Cabrillo.

While grandpa was here I snuck away to have lunch with a friend from Chicago. It was so nice to catch up with her.

Last week we hung out with our mommy friends from daddy's work. We went to a smaller pumpkin farm with rides and live animals. C loved the rides!! We have a few tickets left and plan to use them sometime in the next week.

We are heading to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend while daddy heads to SF for the World Series.
