Friday Favorites

It's been a long time since I've done a FF post. Today I'm linking up with Momfessionals for today's post. I have lots of things to post about, but I never find time to get it all together. And I can't remember most of my favs right now. Arrgg Here's what I have for this week.

Old Navy - Activewear

I don't like to spend much on activewear when I only wear it to sweat it. I'm not one of those girls who looks cute in yoga pants walking around the mall. When I spotted tanks, pants and hoodies on sale a few months ago I decided to give them a try. I have been really impressed by the clothes and they are now my go to when working out.

Did you know that many bowling centers across the nation offer 2 bowling games each day for kids during the summer? We went for the first time today and really enjoyed it. Maybe I enjoyed the AC more than the bowling.

Birthdays

August is full of birthdays in our family - uncle Randy, Charlotte, Mimi, mine and plenty of friends. I'm still like a kid when it comes to birthdays and I'm already planning how I want to spend my special day.

I was introduced to this sale last fall by my friend Julie. It's a huge consignment sale over three days. It's a great place to stock up on clothes, toys, books and baby supplies. I won't be able to attend this year because we'll be in Hawaii, but I do plan to consign a few things and hopefully make a few bucks. The sale is available in most major cities.

This Romper

I picked this romper up a few months ago, at BR Factory, thinking I could wear it was a swim suit cover up or out to dinner. I finally had the opportunity to wear a few weeks ago to a baby shower and I absolutely loved it. I think for a night out I could throw on some heels to dress it up even more. It felt really good wearing something I didn't have to worry about nursing it.

Family Vacation Part 2

One of my second cousins is getting married this fall and her bridal shower fell over one of the weekends I was going to be back in MO. The girls decide to make it into a road trip so on Friday morning, my sister and I headed up to Chicago where we would meet up with my mom and SIL. The last time we were all in Chicago was 3 years ago about 6 weeks before Charlotte was born. This trip reminded me how much I miss the city, even though we didn't make it downtown.

My sister and I drive up Friday morning with three little ones who did awesome. We did have to make an emergency stop along the way because we thought C peed her pants. She actually was able to hold it until we stopped. We made it to the hotel early Friday afternoon and made plans for dinner. The kids were crazy at dinner and we were all ready for bed.

Saturday morning everyone was up early and the three mommas headed out for breakfast while Mimi manned the hotel room with four little ones. Once we were showered we left for the shower. We were appropriately placed at the back of the restaurant where the girls could be loud and run around. I enjoyed seeing my Dad's side of the family whom I hadn't seen in 3 years. The shower was held at Portillos and the food was a delicious as I remembered.

After the shower we headed to the outlet mall followed by a bar be cue at my cousin's. On our way back we made a few pit stops which included Lou Malnatis pizza. YUM!

C'mon Mom, I'm tired of waiting for you.

We headed back early the next morning. As hectic as it was we all had FUN.

Monday we headed back to SD. The second flight was rough for all of us. Both kids pooped their pants towards the end of the flights and were whiny.  Needless to say we were all happy to get home to our own beds.

4th, Comic Con, Picnic and Cow Appreciation

We spent the 4th celebrating at our friend's block party. There was tons of food, inflatable slides games and popsicles. Everyone slept well that night. We had watched the fireworks on Thursday night at a friend's house.

Once again this year we got tickets to Comic Con. David was unable to go this year, so I took E with me and left C with friends. She would not have done well at her age with the lines and crowds. We always enjoy going down to people watch and walk the exhibit floor. This year we had a mission - find and buy the limited edition Star Wards Itty Bittys. I should have known they would be in high demand, but I thought if I arrived early enough it would be easy to grab them and have plenty of time to walk around. I arrived shortly after the exhibit hall opened and made my way to the exhibit. There was already a line three rows deep of people waiting, most of them looking for the special ornaments that were being sold. We got in line and the sales people assured me there would be enough itty bitty but they couldn't guarantee the ornaments. They were only selling 300 per day. We finally made it to the front, the ornaments were sold out by this time, and I convinced the lady to sell me two sets since I technically had two people with me. It took some pleading and she finally agreed. Thank you saleslady. We walked around to check out several of our favorite booths before heading out. On my walk back I stopped by a food truck for a lobster grilled cheese. It was AMAZING!!

This is us after 30 minutes in line.

Inside Out itty bittys. These weren't for sale, but will be soon.

Saturday was daddy's work picnic and it did not disappoint. As soon as C saw the bounce house she was gone. She didn't want to eat or do anything else, except jump. She would have played all day long.

When we were able to finally drag her away, she checked out the inflatable ball.

 Then we all got tattoos.

And decorated frisbees.

Today we participated in #cowappreciationday at Chick-fil-a. We went for breakfast and dinner at two different locations. Yum!

All in all it has been a great week!
