Dinner

My sweet hubby became sick over the past weekend and has graciously given me his cold. However, I wanted to do something special for him since he ran errands with me all weekend. I have a recipe for Chili's Tortilla Soup that I had wanted to make for sometime, so I decided to make it. It was delicious! Here's a picture.

Weird things in DC

This week, while walking around the streets of DC on my lunch break, I noticed a man doing push ups on the corner. I've never seen a fully clothed man working out on the streets in the middle of a busy day; especially when no one is forcing him to. On my way back to the office I saw the same man on the opposite corner doing crunches. It was odd.

Several months ago I was walking to the Metro from work. I noticed what I thought was a man wearing a pink tutu. I had to do a double take and really look at this person. I noticed that not only was this a man wearing a tutu but also a leotard. I'm not judging this person, but it was strange. Had it been closer to Halloween maybe I would have understood his "costume", but it was the middle of the summer.

DC certainly has its share of characters.

Giving Table

One of the things I loved about our apartment was the simple end table located in the lobby of each floor near the elevators. At first glance this may seem like any other table used for decoration, however this table was a place for neighbors to share things with others. I have received many gifts from this table and supplied many gifts for others. Neighbors would place their new or gentle used items on the table for others to take, that was until someone placed a sign on the table prohibiting this.
However, after a few weeks, the giving table was back. Here are a few things I recently picked up - a candle centerpiece and a organizer thing.
