Orange you gonna peel today.

Hey all I have had the most amazing week! Well actually weekend/part of last week. Memorial Day weekend was a great way to kick off the summer, even though I don't get a summer break anymore. Nathan and Ashley came up to visit us over Memorial Day. I had to work on Fri., but after that we went to the International Spy Museum. I have to say it was pretty cool, but I the special "Hollywood" exhibit sucked. It was in one of the smallest rooms and there wasn't mucher spy wear. Although, Carrie they did highlight Alias, which made me think of you. After an evening out on the town, we came back to our place and played a few rousing rounds of Settlers. This is an awesome game, if you have never played, and it can tear relationships apart.

Sat. we ventured out to Hershey, PA and went to the World of Chocolate. Again slightly a let down, but we did get free chocolate. I wish my parents had the money to take me to these places when I was younger. That night, we had a personal tour of the White House!!! We only got to see the West Wing, the press center, and basement. It was pretty awesome! We saw the Rose Garden and the place where the President sleeps. After the tour we went down to Old Town, for some grub, and were ambushed by the Rolling Thunder crowd. For those of you who don't know what Rolling Thunder is, it is basically a parade of harleys through Virginia and DC in honor of the War Veterans. It's huge!

Sun. we went to Kings Dominion. It's supposed to be the nicest amusement park outside of Busch Gardens. I really had a bad experience. Not only did I only get to ride 5 rides, but there were line cutters in almost every ride. Now at Six Flags, people don't do that. It was really hot and I actually got sick and had to rest in the first aid office. I think in my old age, I am starting to develop symptoms of illnesses. Carrie, again this reminded me of a time when we were at Six Flags getting to ride the Boss.

Fastforward to Mon. We tried to see the President's speech at Arlington Semetery, but we were too late. We did see the motor cade come through. We also ventured to Mt. Vernon, for last minute sightseeing. Mon. night Kelly came to visit and it was great to catch up.

Tues. we went down to Virginia Beach, where my white self became a lobster. We were even under the umbrella for about half of the time. Needless to say the ride back and next few days were extremely painfully. I was so sunburned, that I had to take the next day off. It was nice because I was able to spend more time with Kelly. We just lounged around all day in our panties. J/K

The rest of the week was all right, except for my constant peeling. It's really gross, but because of it I have come up with a new invention. I am going to make a lint roller into a peeling glove. It's a fabulous idea a know.

cold, cold, go away and give me back a spring day

i am very frustrated with the weather here. i thought Missouri was bad, but i think that i have found a match and it's called Washington, DC. the stinking weather was beautiful and then it became cold again. Ugghh, it's so frustrating.

This Sat. marks my first Creative Memories party!!! I am excited, but also somewhat nervous. I haven't received my Starter Pack yet, so that could potentially be a problem. I am trying to decide on the menu. I am thinking Spinach and Articoke Dip, and fruit and yogurt parafaits. Any other suggestions?

The first one of the five pregnant people that I know had their baby a week and a half ago. He's still in the hospital, he was 6 weeks early. I think they might get to bring him home soon. His name is Adain Elias Thompson. He's really cute.

So my hepling the homeless endeavors really haven't worked the way I planned for it. I brought an extra lunch for my homless man, but he didn't want it. I am not really sure if he is homeless, and maybe I offended him in some way. But, I am still trying to figure out what I can do to help.

We are having a dime war at work to benefit the March of Dimes, and I am so into it. I am trying to scrounge up change so that my team will win. One of the girls and I are getting really competitive. The teams are set up by month, so we are trying to sabatoge each other. She really doesn't mind, as long as it raises money. It reminds me of penny wars in high school.

update

so here it is, finally a new post. lots of tidbits to update, but first about my photo. This was right after I got a haircut, and some sort of bangs. I was indifferent about them at first, but now i kinda like them. They have definitely grown on me, plus since my hair is not quite long enough to cut off, it was a nice change. I am working on getting the photo moved to my profile section, but for some reason I am having a problem in completing this task.
What else has been going on.....

Today is St. Patricks Day!!! Yes, Carrie, I did wear green, and I thought about you when they announced that (at my work) it was also going to be College Day. I really wanted to borrow your green Mizzou shirt, but luckliy I found an old college shirt that sported green. During lunch we watched basketball and ate pizza. On my way to work, I noticed a mile long line of people piling into a bar, at 9AM!! I soon found out that it was to celebrate Kegs and Eggs. Gross, if you ask me. Did this happen at Mizzou? I could not believe the turn out.

Work has been extremely taxing this last month, hence the lack of posts. I have probably worked close to 70 hours of overtime! Today, with all the festivities I decided to take a break, and not work so hard. I feel it is much deserved.
Las Vegas was fabulous! I don't know if I would choose to go their again, but it was fun. I feel as if you have been there once you have seen it all, especially because I don't like to gamble. I did win $62 in one hand out BlackJack. I was content after that. I spent a couple of extra days out there, and David came out to join me. The light show at the Billagio is amazing! The pirate show at Treasure Island, kind of disturbing. I was lucky enough to have gotten to stay on the strip. We went to see "O" which was amazing!!! I suggest everyone go see a Cirque Solee show.

I am becoming a Creative Memories Consultant!! If you have any scrapbooking needs let me know, and I can supply you with all your creative needs.

I am thinking about joining the Junior League here as well, but I think I have missed the deadline.

I am going to Williamsburg this weekend!! I am really excited, because I get to have Sonic! I have never been to W-Burg, but I here it is sweet. Too bad Busch Garden's isn't open.

I am trying to give up soda for lent, and so far I have been somewhat successful. I started a week late, and I am allowing myself to have some on Fri. I think that is good for me. Also, I think it will help me to become more healthy, and maybe help my teeth. I had to have another root canal a few weeks ago, because my jaw was in so much pain. That 3 in the past year! We'll see if cutting back on the soda helps out my teeth.

I am thinking of stating a new project. There is this homeless man that I walk m=by everyday on my way to work, and I have decided that once or twice a week, I am going to bring him a lunch. We doesn't ask for money, but I am feeling compelled to help him. My small group did a lunch outreach to the homeless in DC and I really saw the need to help them. This is my small start.
