In another life....or maybe this one.

Lately I've been thinking about what career I would have chosen if I'd grown up in a larger city. I love fashion and accessorizing. However, I can't draw to save my life. Well maybe I'm not that bad. I wish I would have taken my mom up on learning to sew when I was younger. At that time in my life making clothes wasn't cool. Everyone wanted the trendy clothes from Guess, Limited Too, and other like stores.

While actual fashion designing wasn't in my future a career in styling could have been. Again, growing up in the Midwest didn't lead to this kind of career. So, I'm left to styling myself. When I moved to the East Coast many people were shocked to learn that I was from Missouri. Their impression of people from the Midwest is country folk with no sense of style. It was fun to dispel the myths.

Last fall I developed a love for the color yellow. I loved everything yellow. My favorite color combo was purple and yellow. Over the past few months my love for yellow has waned. Recently with the release of spring collections, my love for yellow has been revived. Here are a few of my favorite yellow accessories minus my scarf.

Since I'm not pursuing a career in fashion design or styling, I'm considering taking classes in graphic design. I've always loved designing layouts for scrapbooks, making cards, and creating other things. Here is a few of my favorite layouts from my London scrapbook.

New Look

After several hours of agonizing over failed attempts to update the look of my blog, I've finally been successful. It's a representation of my creative side.

When you are sick, you have plenty of time to be creative. I finished my London scrapbook this weekend and made a "name plate" for my future niece - Mackenzie Rae. I got the idea from a friend. It turned out much better than expected.

On to the Sweet Sixteen!

Where did my team go today? We definitely did not show up for the second half like normal. I was sick to my stomach for the last five minutes of the game. I couldn't watch fearful of the outcome. Thankfully good friends helped David and I weather the storm. I am so thankful we pulled off another victory. Phoenix here we come!

New Recipe

This year I've been trying to cook more in anticipation of eating better. I haven't done well in either area. A few weeks ago I did make dinner. Here's a picture of the Sweet and Sour Chicken meal. Recipe to come.

This post is dedicated to Ashley Dunlap. Thanks for the delicious recipe.

Sweet & Sour Chicken

4 eggs 2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour 2 tbs. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt/pepper 1/4 cup soy sauce
4 chicken breasts 1/4 cup vinegar
1 green pepper 1 cup pineapple chunks

Cut chicken into pieces. Mix flour, eggs, salt/pepper in bowl. Dip chicken into mixture. Deep fry in oil. Drain on paper towels. Drain pineapple reserving juice. Add enough water to pineapple juice to measure 2 cups. Blend with sugar, cornstarch, soy sauce, and vinegar in saucepan. Boil for 1 minute stirring constantly. Pour of chicken and pineapple. Serve over rice.

I love layers

Over the past few weeks I've frequented GAP on my way home from work. Mainly because I have a gift card that is burning a hole in my pockets. I've scored a pair of shoes, jeans and a cute top. Over the past few years GAP has disappointed me with their lack luster looks. This year I'm loving their bright colors and layering of scarves and cardigans.

I've bought several cardigans and scarves over the past year. They are great for every season. I love their versatility. They are no longer used only for warmth, but for fashion. GAP has a cute yellowish scarf I planning on buying this week during a special 30% coupon sale. Check it out .

What's your favorite layered look?
