Whatever Wednesday

Here are a few random thoughts for this Wednesday....

I love my kids. They are the light of my life, but sometimes they (mainly C) drive me up the wall. A few weeks ago David was working late and it was my first time going solo putting both kids to bed. I decided to rock them in hopes that the little one would go to sleep. Well to my surprise the big one fell asleep first. I sat there savoring the moment knowing that it may be awhile before I had a chance to do it again. I felt so blessed in that moment. Fast forward a few weeks, I'm at it alone again and I lose my patience with the big one. There has definitely been jealousy creeping in lately over E. Last week she threw a toy across the car while I was feeding him and it bounced off the window an hit me. I think her love language is Quality Time and she hasn't been getting that from me lately. When I ask her to clean up she ignores me and no type of punishment phases her. I'm at a loss on how to get through to her. However, I do know that she relishes 1-on-1 time with me or daddy.

We are looking into preschools for C next fall. How can she be old enough for school yet? I think she will really enjoy school. Now to tackle that thing called potty training.

California has the smallest parking spaces ever. It's a pain to get my kids out of the car especially when other people park horribly. Not to mention, everyone in SD drives an oversized car and the spots are made for compact cars. I now see the appeal of vans with sliding doors. Getting a carseat in and out of my car is painful at times because everyone else parks badly. ;)

Here's what we've been up to.

Day 25: A List of the books I'm attempting to read this year. Several of them were on my list last year and I never got to them.

Day 26: First trip to the Zoo this year.

Day 27: Nap time.

Day 28: We needed some fresh air.

Day 29: What do you do when you are cooped up inside? Craft of course.

Day 30: What you do when your stuck inside for the second day in a row - paint our toes/nails.

Day 31: It's so tiring being a baby.

Day 32: Me and my guy.

Day 33: Breakfast and Costco with my girl.

Day 34: Beautiful 2.5 year old.

Day 35: My almost Valentines.

Day 36: #tbt to my childhood church group

Day 37: I hope see always loves him this fiercely.

Day 38: Cardboard box birthday party. She had so much fun.

Charlotte: 2 1/2 Years Old

2 1/2 Years Old

Height: 34.5 inches

Weight: 27 lbs.

Teeth: Still only 20 (10 on top and bottom), but 2 year molars are coming in

Foods: Lunchables, cheese and pizza. You are also really into sweets.

Words: We are able to have full conversations with you and you can describe past events to us. Most recently you told us about the cricket we found inside the house and how it was jumping all over the floor and by the rocking chair.

Mommy Milestones: You love love love your baby brother. We are still experiencing some sleep issues, but you have started sleeping in your own bed and wake up once a night wanting to sleep with mommy/daddy. You've become a horrible napper. You know how to use the potty, but refuse to use it during the day. You call your hair princess hair and don't want it cut. You love to sing and dance to Shake It Off. Your absolute favorite show by far is Curious George. We've seen every episode at least a dozen times. Your favorite toy is your Ariel baby. You love to color. Daddy and mommy love seeing you grow and mature each day.

February Pin-spired

It's been several months since I've participated in the Pinspired challenge and today I'm linking up with Mel, Shay and Shaeffer for this month's edition.

I've been wanting to try this color combo for some time and I finally had the chance to a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, but I really liked the final product.

After E was born, I was ecstatic to wear "normal" clothes for a change and even more excited that the weather finally cooled off where I could wear "wintery" clothes.
